Description:

 

Better known as 'Crepe myrtle' thus upright, deciduous tree with peeling, gray and brown bark; obovate to oblong, dark green leaves, up to 8cm long, bronze when young. From summer to autumn, white, pink, red or purple flowers, 2 - 2.5cm across, are produced in panicles, up to 20cm long.
