Description:

This perennial species grows to a height of 12 in with a similar spread. It is a mat-forming plant with crowded rosettes of mostly un-lobed leaves that are green above and whitish beneath, and orange flower heads with a black eye spot at petal bases. The leaves of Gazania rigens var. leucolaena are silvery green on both sides and the flowers are yellow; Gazania .rigens.var. uniflora has flowers that are smaller and short stalked.
