Description:

Evergreen tree, a shrub, often with arching branches, producing lance-shaped, dark green leaves, up to 10cm (4in) long, with prominent oil glands. Brilliant crimson-red flowers in spikes, 5-10cm (2-6in) long, are borne freely in spring and summer.
